Downtown Aquarium

Christmas night my mom arrived here to visit us from Florida. Last Saturday, we took her to our Downtown Aquarium in Denver. Sunday, we took the Ski Train to Winter Park, Colorado where the three of us went snowmobiling!!! That day was a blast, but there are so many pictures. Once I'm done going through them all, I will post snowmobiling as soon as I can. In the mean time, here are some pictures from our day at the Aquarium:

Christmas over the years...

Christmas time is always special, but this year we will be different for us without a lot of our family around. However, today I am remembering three years ago. Thomas proposed to me on Christmas Eve, and that will always make this day special! We are now trying to figure out the traditions we want to start with our family - even if that is just the two of us for the time being. These traditions and many memories will always make the Holidays special with or without all of our family around the Christmas Tree. We miss you all, but hope that these old pictures of us over the years will make you smile or feel special. Merry Christmas!

French Fry Fun - Correction & Answers

I knew my mother-in-law would help explain the picture of Thomas posted below. I thought it was a French Fry on his nose, but I stand corrected. Here is the story from Thomas' mother:

"OK 1st of all it is a piece of american cheese, not a french fry which would explain why it sticks. And I believe that he fell asleep and his Dad stuck it to his forehead. I love this picture of him. Love you both, Margaret"

French Fry Fun!

Ok, so I found this picture of Thomas and I can't stop laughing about it! I have seen it many times (considering the fact that it was in our wedding slide show), however, tonight it just seemed to crack me up even more than ever. Now I am staring at it wondering how the french fry even balanced since it's not in the center of his nose... And did Thomas put in on his nose and then fall asleep, or did someone else put it there once he was out cold? I am hoping someone will answer my questioning mind - his mother probably will be able to - but for now I will just keep laughing at my ham of a husband!!!

P.S. Thomas doesn't know yet that I am sharing this with the whole world, so for that... I love you, Babe!!! ;-)

Negative Temperatures

Colorado is making record temperatures with how cold it is right now. The picture to the left is taken from the Weather Channel application on Thomas' phone. Notice that it was -8 (yes, negative) degrees last night, feeling like -21 degrees. This morning, it was -13 degrees at 8 a.m. and we didn't have any water because our pipes were frozen. Even at the "hottest" point of today, it was only 4 degrees above zero. It snowed a couple of days ago, so that snow is still on the ground (making it tricky to drive). We are expecting snow tonight or tomorrow again. Through all of this, families at work are warning us that they don't always have a white Christmas. It could get warmer any day to melt the snow... and then start everything again. Funny, huh?

The second picture is of a pipe outside of our work. The water is usually flowing...

Before & After Photos

When we bought our My Gym on October 6th, we bought a gym with all white walls. Even with the three murals, we were bored with the white. We lived with it for about a month before we started painting everything! We also rearranged the lobby to make it function better. It has been a lot of work doing all this just the two of us, but people have loved the transformations! The kids enjoy the gym better with more colors to look at, too (and it makes the gym feel bigger).
Enjoy the before and after tour of our business...
1st before picture of the whole room (all white walls!!!)

1st after picture of the whole room (color on the walls!!!)

Before - lobby right wall

After - lobby right wall

After - closer look at our chalkboard paint

Before - lobby left wall

After - lobby left wall

Before - computer area

After - computer area with My Gym TV installed (we still need to hide the TV cords and paint the wood they had to hang)

After - blue wall (we outlined the murals that were there)

After - purple walls

After - green walls

After - yellow lobby wall (red wall is reflecting in the mirror)

Front door :)
Now all we have left to do is paint/decorate the bathrooms. Maybe we will get to that over the Holiday break. Anyone available to fly here to help? :-)

A Look Inside My Gym

*New Video*

I have realized that a lot of you do not know what we actually do each day for work and why we moved to Colorado to buy our own business. Hopefully this video/news report of a California My Gym will help you see what My Gym Children's Fitness Center is and what we do each day.

Margaret and Natalie's Visit

Here are some picture from when Thomas' mom and sister visited last week. It snowed a little bit for them while they were here. We all made our very first snowman and even went sleding (my camera died, so I wasn't able to get any photos of that). We went to the Colorado Railroad Museum and the Downtown Aquarium in Denver.

Natalie is holding our first snowman

Then we decided to make a real snowman. We had to use almost all the snow (that's why he is dirty).

...then we decorated/dressed our snowman! (that big white circle is snow falling)

Natalie and Margaret

There wasn't a lot of snow to begin with, and Margaret's shoes kept picking it up.

Icy Car

It was 5 degrees this morning at 8am. The snow has stopped, but it's still on the ground. There is a lot of ice, too. We passed two ponds on the way to work that were completely iced over. Our car had ice on it last night. Thomas had to scrape it off for us to drive home, and he said it looked like the car's nose was running. He took pictures so that you could see what he means, haha.

Weather Report

The high today is 21 degrees and the low is 12 degrees. With the wind chill, they say it feels like 3 degrees right now. It will snow all day today and tomorrow. We already have had almost 2 inches so far. The news said they are projecting 4 inches. Tomorrow's low is 7 degrees. The funny thing is, Saturday and Sunday will be back to warmer weather. It's fun and pretty, but tricky to drive in. I'll try to post pictures soon of when we made a snowman with Natalie (Thomas' sister) while they were here last week. Stay warm everyone! :-)

Our House Tour

Red Kitchen - view from coming up the stairs from the front door

To the right of the kitchen is our office and bathroom. To the left is the dining room, living room, and more stairs.

Office

Red and Brown 1/2 bath that is off the kitchen and office.

Dining room, then kitchen, then office in the back (the 1/2 bath is to the left of the office). Stairs are on the right of the kitchen to go down to the foyer and garage.

One side of the living room. (outside porch is to the left)

Other side of the living room. (stairs go to the bedrooms) The cords and bunny ears won't always be there. Once we get cable, the cords will hopefully be in the wall. Isn't it funny that the bunny ears have to face down for us to pick up a few channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX I think).

Guest room /video game room

Other side of extra room.

Guest room bathroom.

Our Bed!

Other side of our bedroom.

Our bathroom (love my 2 sinks!)
